TTNC – ‘Medow Pond’…

So I’m apparently at it again with my water theme. This is how it went;

“Hhhmmm. ( a long pause followed) Like a medow but it looks like a pond. That’s what came first to my head.”

Can I just add, that he is in fact 24. Reading his quotes honestly make him sound about like a 6 year old. I could edit them and fill them out a bit, but I’d rather just give you it raw!

To do the accent nail I just painted one coat of the sinful colors green, the other nails got two. (But it looks as if they needed to have three really…)

TTNC – ‘Aztec Garden’

So here’s another from the three polish challenge picked by a male. It turns out they also want lovely looking photographs, so a photo of my nails alone isn’t enough. I just don’t know how else to pose them, I mean lighting around my house is an issue, the flash on my camera is too bright, and it’s never dry/sunny outside when I’m ready to photograph them. Booo, what a moan bag ae! Anyway, turns out I won’t be entering but it’s still been a fun thing to do!

When presented with these he said;

“It’s almost got a sort of Aztec look to it. Mesoamerican.”

He’s named them ‘Aztec Garden’.

TTNC – ‘Eyeball Plankton’…

So I’m starting to feel a bit weird about this challenge, it’s maybe from looking at these colours so much but I feel as if I’m not nail arting as well as I could. Booo… Here’s what was said about this one;

“It’s like plankton”. To which I said something along the lines of ‘Oh, I seem to have a water theme going on…’, the reply I received was “Well it’s better than floating eyeballs ,but that doesn’t sound as good”.

So then when asked what he wished to name it, ‘Eyeball Plankton’. Thanks Steven!

TTNC – ‘Water Reeds’…

So this is another design just using three polishes chosen by my boyfriend. He didn’t think much about this one

“They look like reeds.”

And that was it, a man of few words today! But to be fair, I saw like an underwater kelp garden or something so we were pretty close.

Tip Top Nails Competition – ‘Pond Water’…

So Tip Top Nails are holding an international nail art competition. You have to do a design with an accent nail using only use three polishes, here comes the twist, chosen by a male in your life. How fun! The other few rules are that stamping is discouraged as they want to see skills, and no acrylic paint! Which is awesome as I don’t yet use acrylic paint. One entry per person and it closes on 31st August. Check it out!

I let my boyfriend chose the polishes, these were his choices. I was like ‘Ooohh dear…’ – two are pretty samey, one’s my favourite polish which I use all the time, and the sinful colors green stains!  Eeep!

With me having plenty of time to pick a design for the contest, I thought it would be good fun to do a whole week of designs just using those three colours, then decide which one I’m actually going to submit. As an added extra I’m also letting my boyfriend name the design. I obviously know what I’m going for but it might be quite interesting to see what he sees.  Here’s what he said about this one;

“It looks a bit like planet earth, like looking down from space because the lighter bits look like clouds.”

Therefore, what did he call it? ‘Pond water’…. Which didn’t relate to what he’d just told me, but it was cool because that’s what I saw. I sort of saw this underwater scene with the sponged nails, so added a mermaid-esk accent nail.
