So this design was directly inspired by a design from Neiru, but I changed it up a little by adding some accent studs and also a large bud. I think it’s a really sweet and delicate design – something a little more feminine compared to my past few designs, and I really enjoyed wearing it too.

Too pink?…
So pink is certainly not my default colour. Weirdly enough though, I actually own more nail polish in pink shades than any other. Anyway, with Valentines fast approaching (even though I am actually in a relationship, we don’t technically ‘celebrate’ it) it’s time for another themed design. I love the look of striping tape layered close together, I’ve done it once before in blue tones, and I had plenty of tape in pink to create the same effect. Ta da!
Unfortunately this is a little too pink for me, blergh…
Striping Tape Squares…
So I decided to use some of the polishes from the Models Own ‘Twilight’ Collection again. It’s quiet an inspirational collection as all the colours compliment each other really well. This time I went for a striping tape design as I’ve not used it for ages and I find it rather therapeutic; even though the damn designs do take ages there’s something relaxing about it. I used ‘Marsala’, ‘Hot chocolate’ and ‘Sweet Sherry’.
I’ve really fallen in love with their hyper-gels. The brush is a wide brush making application easy, and the formula is really glossy and thick but not overly so.
Striping Tape Sea…
So I’ve never seen striping tape applied the way Cubbiful has on her Instagram – I immediately thought ‘I want to try that!’ and therefore did. I chose to change the colour pallet to hopefully look like less of a copy cat… Even though they were beautiful as they were, I added some pearls and Sea-Creature Water Decals* from BornPrettyStore anyway. I think it turned out really cute! Next time I do something like that with striping tape, I’m going to go for an ombre I reckon!
P.S what a difference the application of cuticle cream makes huh! I’ve never had a sort of ‘before and after’ photo to compare but wow.
ModelsOwn: Second try…
Jaggy Geometrics…
So I used striping tape for this nail art, which I have a love hate relationship with. I love how clean the lines can look and what interesting patterns you can make. But I hate the fact it sometimes pulls up the base colour, or that the polish gets underneath it. Although I suppose that’s my fault – not enough patience for drying time and not applying it well enough, whoops!
Summer Time Stripes…
So I’ve not used my striping tape in a wee while (the last time I did, it had a horrible result and I think I got put off) but when I saw this tutorial on one of my favourite blogs at the moment, I thought ‘hey, I have to try this!’. Also I have a bit of a crush on Neon colours at the moment, so here they are again. I was surprised by how long this took! Seriously. Cutting the tape, carefully painting between the lines, peeling it off, top coating it – it wasn’t difficult, just took ages for me! Maybe I’m out of practice with fiddly things …
Spring Lime Lines…
So my mum kept saying this was such a ‘fresh’ looking colour. And I was like it’s technically spring time… oohh spring lime! Ahahaha and then having lines! Oh the alliteration, how thrilling. This design didn’t even last the day, I didn’t really like it so didn’t bother wasting a top coat, by dinner time the striping tape was already peeling off so I just removed it.
