So colourful was an easy one as anything goes right? Therefore I went for everything – pearlescent colours, gems, glitters and sponging, yaay!

Drip drip drop little April shower…
So, I don’t think I actually need to point it out, but it’s April. Say whaaat, where are the months going? It’s frightening. It’s been terrible weather; rain, snow, sleet, hailstones, gale force winds so when it came to painting my nails I wanted to do something related. I chose a sponge base and then just simple black over the top, although upon reflection I kinda wished I’d went for a lovely dark blue to make it a little different and more reflective of the weather which was my initial inspiration, rather than just dripping tar or something.

BornPrettyStore: Spring Butterflies…
So I couldn’t resist returning to the butterfly water decals* from Born Pretty Store. I felt the first time I used them I just didn’t do them justice, my back ground was wrong and they just didn’t pop! I went for a more colourful sponged background where I just mooshed some colours together, it turned out well. I can’t get over how pretty the actual butterflies are though! The small green and blue ones are definitely my favourite. I then applied a light glitter top coat because it just looked as if it needed to sparkle. I certainly prefer this version.

Roots…
I started sponging some bright colours together in hope that it would turn into a nice, festival feeling design. Instead I ended up going too far with it, and they all turned into this sort of bogey colour. Yerch. So I tried to rescue it by painting my (probably) favourite design to do – ‘stain glassing’! Yay… but I left it kind of unfinished. I don’t know if it works… Opinions? A bit yawn ae.
Nail sponged gradient…
Sorry for the lack of posts guys, I’ve actually been away on holiday.
Before I left I tried my hand at sponging a gradient after being inspired by a post Solveig on her blog Nailin’ it!. I then added some tiger stripes. I don’t think I like it in the blue, so I’ll have to definately have to have another go!
