So yesterday my mum and I went on a trip to a casino in Edinburgh. It’s housed in a beautiful art deco building called ‘The Maybury‘ so I wanted my nails to reflect that style. It’s been a while since I’ve done some line work, and as you can see I’m a bit out of practice!

Holo Jungle…
So this is another unused product that I purchased in October – some loose holo glitter. It’s quite a fine glitter and applied really nicely, it also isn’t too ‘thirsty’ as it only needed two coats to stay smooth. (Some loose glitters drink up top coat almost endlessly.)
I then applied some leaves which are actually water decals, I really like how the combo looks! I managed to melt one of the leaves however as I forgot to dry it off properly – whoops!
Interstellar…
So this is the final polish that I purchased from Primark. It’s called ‘interstellar’ and behaved much like the others; smooth application, very good coverage, not overly smelly.
I wore this design to work and unfortunately it chipped really badly. Now if you take in to consideration that I’m in a swimming pool for 2 and a half hours, there can sometimes be some lifting or peeling, but I was a little bit disappointed by just how much came off. Never the less, the polish only cost £1.50 so….
P.S why the fish? Well I’m off fishing tomorrow – fingers crossed for a successful catch!
MiniManiMonth ‘Candy Floss’…
So all I can see are udders. I’m sorry, but once I stopped painting and looked at my nails, I did find it quite funny but ultimately was like ‘eeww, no’. The base is smoothed out foil from the little pots of ‘nail jewels’ I purchased from Wilkos. I’ve used it before as flakes but wondered what look it would give over the whole nail, and I think it looks pretty cool! (Check out my instagram for how the foil looked by itself) ‘Candy Floss’ is actually quite a nice pink and applied quite thickly.
