So I’m not being very successful at keeping up with Froekenfilts Dinovember challenge but I am doing my best at trying to do some! Day 9’s prompt was ‘Pterosaurs’ and I know that was like a week ago already, but by the time I upload the pictures, select a good one, life happens, work, etc it can sometimes be that long between painting and posting. I’m sure bloggers and non-bloggers alike can understand this!
I thought this design was quite fun as you have to be kind of ‘in the know’. The normal onlooker may just presume that they’re badly painted birds or strange bats even, but if you happen to be a dino nerd you’re hopefully seeing pteranodon in flight!
So I fancied doing a gradient today. I was almost boring again by painting polka dots on top, but I’ve done that about a gazillion times already. I know that desert pictures always have cacti and cattle skulls – I’m not sure what makes this desert particularly Mexican but…
So I really don’t like this. I’ve never done a silhouette design and thought a winter scene would be cool to try. But it just didn’t turn out nice, I think this is really ugly. The colour combination is horrible, the trees look silly and the snowman is all out of proportion – the whole thing is just yuck. And honestly, I’m not one of those people who are like “Awww it’s nasty” trying to fish for people to say “It’s nice” – I really don’t like this design, and I’ll probably think you’re lying if you try to tell me that it’s okay. Why post it then? Well, this is the ugly reality – sometimes the ideas you see in your head just don’t work out! Back to the drawing board.
