French (bulldog) manicure..

So with the weather being amazing lately I felt like I wanted something bright and fun to adorn my nails. I delved in to my nail art supplies and came out with gemstones, glitter and some adorable French Bulldog water decals. Perfect! I then resorted to picking two of my favourite Barry M polishes so favoured that the names have worn off…

So which do you prefer? Pink or green?

New Year New Neon…

So I received a set of Nails Inc ‘Stay Bright Neons’ for my Christmas and decided to use one of the polishes (‘Claridge gardens’) as the base for my new year nails. The set includes a ‘neon activator’ which you have to apply as a base for the neon colour – it looked a lot like normal white nail varnish to me but it sure did make the neon pop!

I then threw on a sprinkling of holo glitter, which has disappointingly photographed as just silver, and some green round glitter to give me that ‘lets have a party’ feeling.

All the best for 2018 everyone!

Spooky Sequins…

So there’s actually nothing spooky about these sequins, but this design is the start of my Halloween nails. I think they look quite grimy and gritty without having to shout Halloween. The sequins are really nice in reality – kind of iridescent and give off a  nice shine. If you’re following me on Instagram my ‘story’ today has a few good shots of them shining.

Supernova…

So I’ve finally broken my ‘no buy January/February’ by purchasing 3 polishes from Primark. They were so cheap at £1.50 each, really only equating to the price 1 ‘good’ polish and we are now in to May almost June so I think I’ve done pretty darn well. I’ve enjoyed not buying, I feel like I’ve broken the habit (or addiction, whatever you’d like to call it) and it feels good! However, I am feeling a slight relapse coming on as I’m getting a little bit bored of my current supplies – my fingers are twitching at the keyboard, eager to start scrolling through BPS again. Maybe that’s why I ended up buying some new polishes actually!

Anyway, the first polish I tried was ‘Supernova’ which is a metallic pink pink according to the bottle, however on the nail it comes out a sort of lilac pink. It applied wonderfully smooth, it didn’t steak quite as badly as Models Own metallics can, and it didn’t smell horrible either. (Please excuse the two sort of scuff marks, I managed to bump my nails whilst they were still drying)

That was way to boring to leave the house with so I added a quick splash of glitter! In reality, I think the pink glitter helps to lift the polish a bit more in to the pink side and out of the purple side of the spectrum.

Essential Nails Design 11…

So I really enjoyed doing this design! It’s called ‘stained glass’ and I could have sat and practiced this one all day, but I feel like I understood it pretty quick. It’s actually something I can see myself wearing – a few of the other designs are a little, dare I say, old-fashioned?

Holly Wreaths…

So I don’t feel ‘Christmassy’, even though there’s only like 4 days to go. I’ve wrapped all the presents, toured the Christmas markets, planned Christmas dinner but still – I’m just not feeling it. The weather’s been too mild and wet lately and I think it’s throwing me off, where’s the freezing cold and ice?!

Because it’s not felt ‘right’, I’ve been neglecting my Christmas nail art. I hope these glittery holly wreaths can make up for it, but I still feel like I’m trying to falsely celebrate Christmas in September or something. Annoyingly I managed to mess up my ring finger and my thumb came out the best, urgh.

Glitter Puss…

So it’s Autumn. There’s no denying it or avoiding it as our house faces a woods and the leaves on the trees are starting to turn. With this realization I felt it was time to get some browns out, so I did it with a brown glitter ombre topped haphazardly with leopard print nail foil* (A11) from BornPrettyStore – which is currently on sale at the moment, 14th September, at only $0.99!

Shiny Happy Zebras…

So I just love how this turned out, it’s so happy and shiny! I want to say I went ‘too far’ with all the glitz and glitter but I’m not sure if that’s even really possible… I used a flakie and a glitter  polish for the base, stamped on top using the multicolored blobbing technique, and then added a ridiculous amount of gems (even though if I’d planned it better I could have had more on there!).

It’s a shame because (how many times do I complain about this) the photos don’t do the glitter any justice, it’s so much brighter and glittery in person and it’s a serious distraction whilst driving. I used BornPrettyStore plate BP-16 which is an amazing plate that I’ve returned to time and time and time again for images. If you fancy purchasing it too, you can use the code ‘AZYW10’ at the BornPrettyStore check out for 10% off all full priced items.

Negative Space…

So I’ve not painted a negative nail space design in quite a while, so when I saw one on instagram from ‘@Attitude_Nails’ I wanted to recreate it but not in the same colour. I mean the original colour was lovely but I wanted to make what I did min and by doing so I think it’s given it a completely different look!
