So even though I’ve now broken my ‘no buy’ spate I’m still trying to use the unused, which brought me round to using this little tassel. Now why on earth I would buy a tassel to put on my nail beats me, but at the time I clearly was inspired (way back in March 2016), so I just had to go with it. Turns out tassels are now ‘on trend’ so does that technically mean I was ahead of the curve?…
To be fair, it is pretty cute and somewhat of a novelty being able shaking it around however in terms of day to day practicality I’m not sure how it would really fair. The gemstone’s pretty large and could be easily knocked off…
So I’ve kind of cheated for this design. If you can remember yesterdays (here), I’ve actually removed the studded nails because they smudged off – my base layers must’ve been too thick/not dry, keeping the confetti ones. Not because the thought of having to take off catchy glitter is freaking me out or anything… I had no idea what I was doing so just went for it and it’s resulted in my taping being weird and then it all went over the top and the nails don’t really match each other, but hey. It’s a summer carnival design, anything bright goes right!….
So I totally shouldn’t be spending money on nail varnish at the moment but… I’ve had my eye on this Claire’s accessories confetti polish (even though they’re calling it a glitter polish) for ages and I gave in and bought it… It’s been so sunny lately – it’s lovely! So this design is perfectly weather appropriate, being cheery and bright.
The only studs I have are metallic coloured which didn’t suit the look I was aiming for. So I just painted them first, let them dry then applied as normal!
So I totally fancied doing a splotchy sponge. Unfortunately the colours I chose are not weather/season appropriate. Do these not make you feel all summery and festival ready? I must say though, I personally wasn’t happy with the base. I kind of wish I’d chosen a different colour…
I don’t use my caviar beads very often, mainly because they’re a little impractical. I don’t like how rough they feel, and the beads don’t stay on that well – but maybe I’m doing something wrong? On only two nails though, I can almost handle the feeling of them.
I felt these were looking kind of Eastery with the pastel colours and dots. Sorry for yet another gradient, I just can’t get enough of them!
Usually I don’t attempt to replicate a design to my left hand, with me being left handed but today I felt brave. I think I managed to pull it off, almost….
I’ve went all bad ass!
Easy Peasy – Here I’ve combined a magnetic polish with Andrea Fulerton Nail Stickers (Even more bad ass – she’s calling them ‘Nail Tattoos’). I actually use her stuff quite a lot, they’re sticky stickers and don’t curl up when you apply a top coat.
I couldn’t resist trying to do something with crosses, I’ve been seeing them on clothing everywhere with it being festival season. Personally I’m not a fan of it, but I think they turned out pretty cool as a nail design!
