Bad to the Bone…

So bones are kind of related to Halloween. These were quite easy to do with just a nail art pen, although the smaller ones were pretty tricky! I think it turned out quite cute, you could wear this at anytime of year, just change the colour combination, no?

Zombie Flesh…

I think this colour combo is great for Halloween. Kinda garish, and a bit yucky! It really reminded me of zombie flesh (subconsciously influenced by Iron Fist’s zombie apparel or maybe even comic book zombies/monsters). It was really quick to do – just green, topped with purple blotches, outlined with black pen and ta-da!

Gargoyles!…

So tomorrow is October, and I love dressing up for Halloween. I’ve been itching to do some nail art, so here is my first design! Instead of doing pumpkin faces, which I did last year, I thought gargoyles are kinda spooky. I tried to create a stone look by using a rough sponge to mix gray, black and white polishes together – giving a mottled, textured effect. Yeah? No? Then I drew on the faces using a nail pen.

Nail Fail…

So I thought I’d try out sponging with nail tape. That didn’t work as my tape wasn’t thick enough so you could barely notice the lines. I then decided to go over the lines with a nail art pen and it came out patchy and just horrible. NAIL FAIL! Never mind, my mum liked it so maybe it’ll be to other peoples taste?

Guava Gold…

Dots again, aarrrggh! It started off all so well with the stripes. I think I’ve done them that often that my hand is now flying autopilot. STOP! It’s honestly subconscious, I think I have a serious problem.
So anyway, I really like this colour combination if I do say so myself. Barry M Guava sponged with gold (hence the name, duh), topped off with black pen. There was no real inspiration it just sort of happened, one of those designs ae.

Spotty Giraffe…

As named by my mum! These are on her nails, I started off with actual giraffe print but then my nail pen did a ‘spurt’ so I just decided to dot everywhere. I’m sure I’ve seen something almost identical to this on someone elses blog, I’m sure it was yellow though? (maybe they had the same problem!) So please let me know if you know who did this first!

Gold Diamond…

I’ve seen diamonds drawn on nails before (I have no idea if it’s just a design or if they have some sort of meaning?) and I fancied trying to draw one anyway. I didn’t feel in the mood to do something intricate, so this simple outlined french manicured look happened. Look at my wee scabbit index fingernail, eeewww. I pulled it right into the quick – I wasn’t sure if I was painting skin or nail anymore. Disgusting!

Paisley Print…

I’ve been on holiday to London for a while, sorry! Back to regular postings as from now, honestly. I wanted to do something cute and a little bit intricate, but didn’t feel I had the patience. There’s nothing worse than starting a design then getting frustrated and irritable half way through, then giving up and taking it all off, ever had that?…So this was quick and simple and still looked quite nice.

Art Deco…

So these are my mums nails. She loves black polish, usually with a silver design – but I got a Barry M nail art pen in white so couldn’t resist trying it out. It’s a bit patchy in places and I didn’t really know what I was doing with this design, it was one of those times that you start so you just go for it.

Green Maze…

So I have 3 lucky bamboo plants, I think they’re fresh and they’re pretty easy to grow – I just leave them too it.  I basically tried to replicate the design on one of the vases on to my nails. As you can tell it was done from memory, so it turned out to be a little bit different but still pretty nice yeah?
